It's amazing what a simple coat of paint can do to a room.
You can also use paint to give your furniture a complete
make over to liven up your room. The above bedroom
is absolutely gorgeous and it just wouldn't be the same
without the boldly painted wicker divider in bright blue
for a headboard. The lime green is a really nice accent
to go with blue and dark brown comforter.

It is absolutely okay to go wild with color on an antiqueor vintage piece of furniture. The French bergere styled
chair to the left is proof of this. Vivid pink with cheetah
patterned fabric, it's loads of fun.
How about a pop of cherry red in this simple countrystyled room?
The Orange headboard just screams out at you.
Opposite the headboard, a burnt orange chestof drawers.
A White chair with a zebra pattern to mix it up.
I've posted this photo before but I wantedto show it again so one can see that instead
of Teal, it could have been any other color.

I love painted pieces. The blue headboard in the first picture is great! Also love the zebra chair. I just bought zebra fabric for that same purpose - now what color to paint the chair? :) Great post.
I'm drooling. help! :)
For starters, I'm so happy your back. I love your blog. Second, thank you so much for this post. I'm going to look into these books asap. I have a desk and a few other pieces I want to paint but am so nervous because I really have no idea how. This post is just what I needed!
Great inspiration & terrific books. I agree, painting furniture transforms a room & it's re-purposing an item that may of ended up in a land-fill. Great post.
* That HOT PINK CHEETAH BERGERE is SOOOOOO DELIGHTFUL and F*U*N!!!!! I ADORE it!!! (Makes me smile!)~~~
...annnd, I just spent several minutes TRYING to figure out WHERE I could possibly "do" something "wild n' crazy" like that in our house here in the desert~~~ came to the conclusion that we've just GOT to buy a lil' "love-nest" somewhere... BUUUT, as much as "I" love the chair, I just CAN'T see my sweet husband getting "turned on" by it!!!(Smiles!)~~~
Thanks! That was a delightful "WAKE-UP IT'S FRIDAY!" posting!!!
Warmly,

The thing I love is that most of these started with a white palette which I am very fond of, and then added color that is easily interchangeable. Inspiring! Thank you~

I agree with Mimi, there are great lessons here on starting with some very plain rooms and making them pop!
I will probably have to confine any painting attempts to thrift-store finds. My Beloved Husband gets very upset if I paint 'real' wood!!
The orange is what got me. I realized that over the years, I always come back to orange every time I decorate for myself. Started with painting parts of my furniture orange when I was 12.
Love the photos you've chosen :) They're such great examples of what color can bring to a room.
these photoes are really great! i love it when people use colours.
I am absolutely in love with the the boldly painted wicker divider in bright blue for a headboard! In the words of stylist Rachel Zoe--"I die". Thanks for sharing!
