Amy Atlas ~ A Stunning Lavender Snowflake Candy Table ~ Happy New Year 2010 !!

One of The Most mouthwatering and Gorgeous Candy I've ever seen are
from Amy Atlas Events based in New York City.  She is the creative force
and owner of this company that makes beautiful cakes, desserts and candy
tables for events of all kinds.  She calls this winter wonderland creation
Lavender Snowflake Dessert Table.

"We created this dessert table for both a Bat Mitzvah and for an event by
the Wedding Library at the New York Palace. The design details were
inspired by the Bat Mitzvah girl's lavender snowflake invitation.
Opalescent lavender desserts were placed on our custom lucite vessels."

Amy Atlas' creations gives new meaning to the word "Eye Candy."

This color palette is perfect for a little girl in a winter wonderland.  Don't
the candy canes above just make you think of Sugar Plum Fairies?

Snowflake topped chocolates in silver, lavender and white.
Wouldn't it also be a wonderful color palette for a room?

I'll be taking a break this week so I will see you all back next
week.  I hope you are all having dreams of the Sugar Plum
Fairy as well!  Cheers and Happy New Year to everyone!

A Pastel Christmas ~ Shabby Chic Christmas ~ Merry Christmas Everyone!

Have any of you thought of a pastel Christmas?  I love the room above -
it's sort of a blend between shabby chic and a pastel Christmas.  It's super
girly but tons of fun.

Pink glasses with gold rimmed dishes.

Pastel candy covered almonds...

These magazine clippings are from Home Companion magazine.
They absolutely show that a "Pastel" Christmas can be very
well done and lots of fun.

Silver finishes for a touch of glam.

Bolder colors to accent the pastels.

A pastel Christmas is great if you have young
ones and kids would love the color scheme.

I haven't made paper chains in a long time -
all you need is a pair of scissors, a stapler
and lots of bright fun wrapping paper or
origami paper.

Wrap all of your presents up in pink!

How about a paper and button gingerbread house?

You can make a wonderful decorative ball with vintage ornaments.

What do you think?  It may not be for everyone but
would you ever do a pastel Christmas?  Or even
perhaps a miniature version for your daughter's room?

Merry Christmas Everyone!

A White Christmas in a Gorgeous Montana Log Home

I've always felt the perfect way to spend Christmas is in a fabulous log
house or cabin with snow covering the ground.  Of course you also
need the romantic and cozy roaring fire.  This fantastic log home
(mansion) is in Montana and it has breath taking view.

It has a modern feel from the outside with stones
and large glass windows for great views.

How would you like to sit on a porch like
this to have a morning cup of coffee.

*sigh* This is a picture perfect Great Room with
a fire place and lovely Christmas tree.

I adore all of the beams and the very rustic bed frame in this bedroom.

Nothing like festive cheer outside as well.
Christmas trees don't have to be just indoors...

Now this is a Real fire pit.

Remember that porch I was talking about?  Now pair it with views like this.

Absolutely breathtaking.  Wouldn't you love
to spend Christmas in a place like this?

Two of the log homes I have are these two hard cover
books.  I really love this Small Log Homes as it shows
cozy but beautiful log cabins.

Gorgeous book of log and rustic cabins.  What about you?
Do you like cabins?  What is your favorite room?  Mine is
probably the Great Room and the bedroom.

Kyle Schuneman's Fabulous Makeover for Tyra Bank's Office

Earlier in the year, I did a post on a wonderful
L.A. based interior and set designer called
Kyle Schuneman. He did a makeover for
Tyra Bank's office earlier in the year which
I think is absolutely fantastic. You can tell
that his makeover would be affordable for
the average person.

I adore looking at before and after photos. And
what a huge difference it is before and after!

Kyle really did wonders for this office. Seeing the
before and after photos really gives one a sense of
the transformation that took place.

The photographer responsible for much
of Kyle's fantastic work is Joe Schmelzer.

I adore the mirrored dresser. Kyle put a lot of
mirrored finishes aroudn the office for a super
chic and glam feel.

Here are some closer up photos of the office.

He found room for a chaise and a little
mirrored end block to serve as an end table.

The frames are so much fun.

The purple colored water in the vase
is a cheap way to create an absolutely
awesome detail.

So what do you think? You can totally
tell that he made this transformation on
a reasonable budget. I couldn't help
but go nuts over this office!

Chic London Design Hotel ~ The Sanctum Soho Hotel London

The Sanctum Soho Hotel London is a very chic
and luxurious boutique hotel located in a very desirable
location just off of Regent's street in the West End of
London. Two beautiful Georgian townhouses have been
converted into a 30 room boutique hotel.

I just adore the glamorous details used - the nickel
and mirror surfaces for glamour with leather tufted
headboards. The bed just looks absolutely sumptious.

What's even more interesting is the modern open layout
of the rooms. The rooms are decorated differently.

Different angles of the same room.

The opposite end of the bed is a glamorous
mirrored writing desk with a velvet covered chair.

The discreet (as the English are) yet upscale entrance.

The public lounge area is designed with rich
reds and a really cool copper pendant lamp.

Here's another gorgeously appointed room. I love
the use of dark walls to contrast with the bedding.

This is a brighter photo of the same room where you
can see some of the details of the room a little more.

You can never go wrong with classic
black, white and silver in the bathroom.

This smaller room has a desk and
a bar in the corner of the room.

A closer look at the bed.

Anyone for a round bed? I think round beds are very
glam but I'm not entirely sure I'd want one for myself
unless I was sleeping solo. It just doesn't seem like a
round bed would fit 2 people comfortably - I keep on
thinking the feet would hang over the edge...That's just

Here's a cozy room probably in the attic level of the
original Georgian Townhome. They really know how
to use the space - they even managed a full size tub
in this room.

Ooooohh, a purple tufted headboard - very interesting.

If anyone is up for something with a bit of the English
country feel, this would be the room for you. I adore
Union Jacks so I find the pillows to be the perfect

You really can't beat the location, what do you think
of the rooms? What are your favorites? What do you
think of a round bed (this one I'm curious about your
