A Redesign of My Bedroom for a New Chapter - Moroccan Inspiration

I decided to redo my bedroom because I'm starting a new chapter of my life and I want a clean slate with fresh beginnings.  I'd like for my surroundings to reflect who I am and where I am right now in life.  I imagine a bedroom where everything is low to the ground and I can invite friends and family to hang out with me in my room.  A place that can be a sanctuary, that's full of hope and joie de vivre, a place that's warm and inviting and last but not least, inspirational.  This is the inspiration photo I'm using to redo my bedroom.  I'm in the process of getting rid of a lot of things including my bed frame, dresser and much more.  It's quite a therapeutic process to clean out both physically and metaphorically.  The room is a guest bedroom in a house in Marrakesh (Vogue Living Australia.)  Anyone else cleaning out or doing a redesign?

Not currently redecorating but I do love your inspirational photo from Vogue. I love all things Moroccan, these a touch of the Bohemian style in there which I love.

I love your idea and if you wouldn't mind a tip or two, cuz I had a studio apt that I did this style -- IKEA sells sheer panels super long , I think there is an 8' panel and a 12 04 14' panel. They are so cheap and nice. I actually bought several and hung them w thumb tacks agaont the wall instead of painting (cuz it was apt) and did this on all walls. I hung an additional longer panel infront of the door and then somehow scooped it up to the ceiling so it created a more private entrance. I have a large Indian community near me so I lucked out at my local resale shop and found lots of used saris that I cud pick from to match - lovely some w sequins and glitter too that just layering aound the window well and closet doors added much elegance. It was heavenly and I so miss that apt. I bought a house since and now have a toddler that pulls on all things so once she is old enuf I will do it again, bub this time probably my entire house!II hope you'ill love the feeling you get when you enter as much as I did

Thanks girls for the comments!

Nada - always love to see photos of other people's spaces lol. Looking forward to it.

Heather - I wish I could have seen a photo of what you had done with all that heavenly fabric! I can imagine it. I used saris at curtains in my living room - love the colors! Indian and Moroccan fabrics and styles go so well together.

I've managed to clean out a lot of things out of my room and closet and it is indeed theraputic. Many items went to charity and some sold...I just wish more sold out.

but for our honeymoon plans guess where we will be going!

I've fell in love with Riad Fes when I saw its pictures in 2010 on your blog.

I'm now planning my honeymoon- booking in process- and we are going to Morocco!- it's my first visit there- in particular Casablanca, Fes, and Marrakech

in Marrakech we will be staying in Riad Kaiss which is an affiliate of Dar Les Cigognes which you wrote about too! it was a tough call to choose which one of the two we choose Dar or the Riad in Marrakech as they are both breath taking but I ended up choosing Riad as the Suite there has it's own private terrace garden. I'm so excited. Thank you for introducing us to those amazing hotels.

I will share my own pictures once we go in August on my blog and link them here!

btw I have your blog on my "must read" list on my blog :)

you've really inspired me to blog...mind you all of my posts got deleted and I had to start over a few days ago...*sigh* but your blog was the first design blog to ever capture my attention back uni.

have a great day!

Hello! I realize this is sort of off-topic however I had to ask.
Does building a well-established blog like yours take a massive amount work?
I am brand new to operating a blog but I do write in my diary on a
daily basis. I'd like to start a blog so I can share my experience and feelings online. Please let me know if you have any kind of suggestions or tips for new aspiring bloggers. Thankyou!
